Professional Experience:
Ryan’s practice focuses on real estate disputes, insurance coverage disputes, construction defect litigation, evictions and condominium and homeowners association representation. He has also handled a variety of other legal matters for clients, including contract disputes, lien foreclosure, unemployment insurance coverage, employment discrimination and wage claims. He currently represents hundreds of homeowners and condominium associations in Oregon and Washington, helping them with their transactional and litigation needs.
Ryan represents his clients at all levels of the justice system. He has successfully represented clients in administrative proceedings and tried cases in Washington, Multnomah, Yamhill and Clackamas counties. In those proceedings, he has argued numerous arbitrations and dispositive motions for his clients. He has also successfully argued clients’ cases at the Oregon Court of Appeals and Oregon Supreme Court. One of his appeals, Riverview Condominium Association v. Cypress Ventures (2014) set an important statute of limitations precedent for construction defect claims in Oregon

Community Involvement:
Ryan has been heavily involved in the Oregon Chapter of Community Association Institute, an nonprofit organization dedicated to educating volunteer board members and the vendors servicing them. He has served on the Chapter’s membership committee since 2009, serving as the committee’s chair from 2013 to 2015. Ryan also currently serves as a director on the Chapter’s board. He has also presented on legal topics ranging from association voting, enforcement, insurance, governing document interpretation and construction defect litigation.

Personal/Family:
Ryan moved to Oregon in 2008 with his wife Leigh and son Jack. Somehow, he has had three more children since then.
